Kindred Home Support

Digital safety & device care, in detail

Removing frustrating tech barriers and keeping devices connected, simplified, and secure — so the technology in the home helps instead of getting in the way. Bridge the tech gap so you don't have to play remote IT support on Sunday nights.

Digital Safety & Device Care

Every scheduled visit includes time for the devices the household depends on, and the family receives an email summary after each visit describing what was checked and what was fixed. And because we're a local, privately owned, owner-operated company, the same people who set up your devices are involved in every visit.

Interface & screen simplification

Phones and tablets are powerful, but their default setup isn't built for aging eyes or tired hands. We organize the home screen down to the apps that actually matter, increase text size and contrast for legibility, and set up direct-call widgets so reaching family is one tap instead of five. The goal is a device that feels calm and predictable — not one that fights back every time it's picked up.

  • Home screens organized around what matters
  • Text size, contrast, and legibility tuned
  • Family direct-call widgets set up

Health & wearable pairing audits

A smartwatch or emergency pendant only protects someone when it's charged, paired, and actually talking to the phone. On scheduled visits we verify Bluetooth connections on smartwatches, fitness trackers, and emergency pendants, confirm they're charging properly, and make sure alerts are reaching the right family members. A dead pendant is worse than none at all — it creates false confidence.

  • Bluetooth pairing
  • Charging and battery health confirmed
  • Emergency pendants tested and connected

Connectivity & smart home checks

When the Wi-Fi drops, everything connected to it quietly stops working — and nobody notices until the doorbell camera misses a visitor. We run heartbeat checks on the router and Wi-Fi, sync smart TV remotes, and confirm doorbell cameras are online and recording. Small connectivity issues get flagged in the visit summary before they turn into a frustrating weekend of remote troubleshooting for the family.

  • Router and Wi-Fi heartbeat checks
  • Smart TV remotes synced and labeled
  • Doorbell camera status confirmed

Scam & spam shielding

Seniors are the number-one target of phone and text fraud, and the schemes get more convincing every year. We block nuisance numbers, set up carrier and device spam filters, clear scam pop-ups and suspicious browser extensions, and walk through the latest fraud tactics in plain language. The visit summary keeps the family aware of what we've seen and blocked.

  • Nuisance numbers blocked
  • Text fraud filtered and flagged
  • Browser pop-ups and scam extensions cleared

What Kindred Home Support does not cover

Digital care on route visits is intentionally focused on everyday devices and safety. To keep visits dependable and fairly priced, the following are out of scope:

  • PC or Mac operating-system troubleshooting
  • Printer or network-printer debugging
  • Password resets or account access for banking or financial apps

When something falls outside a route visit, we'll say so plainly in the visit summary and point the family toward the right kind of help.
